Developer Comment: Since his rework, Ominous Wraith at Level 13 has largely defined Leoric's place on a team at more competitive levels of play. Rather than nerf something that we consider to be a fairly cool and unique playstyle, we're instead looking to buff up the other ways that players can build Leoric. Now all of his key build-around talents will be at Level 13, which should make his Basic Attack playstyle come online much sooner, and give him more options if he wants to build into Drain Hope, as he can now combine Unyielding Despair with Hardened Bones.

Developer Comment: The Dead King has been reanimated with a plethora of new talents and mechanics. One of our main goals with his rework was to add some depth into his wave clear routine. Early in development we noticed the cadence and deliberateness of his Basic Attacks and wanted to build around that. Between Wrath of the Bone King and the tuning changes to Skeletal Swing, we feel like we hit that goal. The other big focuses with this update were to remove the death state healing interactions of talents and update the talent tree to our newer philosophies. We know it was a long time in coming, but we appreciate your patience and look forward to your feedback!

Block
- Damage reduction increased from 50% to 75%
Developer Comments: We want to improve counter-pick talents like Block that are meant to be strong against certain hero types. We’re hoping that these kinds of Talents will have a more meaningful impact in games in which they are picked, and that there are more situations where the enemy team’s composition drives intelligent Talent choices.
Other effects similar to Block have been evaluated on a case-by-case basis for all Heroes, with some gaining increased Block damage reduction, while others stayed at 50%.

- Damage dealt by splash and cleave attacks will no longer trigger effects that would otherwise require a direct attack to trigger (ex: Block, Spell Shield, Imposing Presence, etc.)

- Block charges are now tracked in the buff bar next to the Hero portrait, and a timer has been added to show the time remaining until a new charge is generated.

- Fixed an issue that made Leoric unable to walk through enemy Gates while in Undying form.

- Cooldown decreased from 12 to 11 seconds
- If Leoric is stunned while casting Drain Hope, the stun will no longer cancel the Ability and the missile will continue to travel
- Damage dealt and Health gained reduced from 25% to 20%
- Damage and Healing no longer gradually increase over the Ability’s duration, but instead does a consistent amount of damage and healing with each tick.
Developer Comments: We wanted to remove the scaling damage and heal amount on Drain Hope, but knew the change alone would be a significant buff as much of the value is loaded at the end of the ability. In response, we lowered this value by 5% and also reduced the cooldown by 1 second.

Developer Comments: Leoric is too powerful right now. We’re targeting his Skeletal Swing, as we believe it does everything a little too well. The damage output for this Ability has been decreased overall, and we’ve reduced its strength at clearing Minion waves significantly.
Bug Fixes
- Abathur will no longer receive Takedown credit after casting Symbiote on an allied Leoric that is then killed by the enemy team.
- Abathur will now properly receive Takedown credit after dealing the killing blow to Leoric.
- Abathur's Hivemind Symbiote will no longer persist on Leoric after he enters Undying form.
- Camera Follow will no longer cease functioning if Leoric enters Undying form in mid-air.
- Leoric’s in-game portrait will no longer switch to his Wraith Walk portrait if an enemy Leoric is killed nearby.
- Leoric’s Reanimation Talent will no longer allow him to regenerate Health after picking up a Regeneration Globe while controlling a Dragon Knight or Garden Terror.
- Nazeebo's Gargantuan will no longer continue to follow an enemy Leoric that has entered Undying form.

Imposing Presence
Developer Comments: Statistically, it was almost never wrong to choose Imposing Presence. With this nerf, it’s still a great counter in the right situation, and as a result, we’re hoping we’ll see more play from our Basic Attack assassins.

- Brightwing's Peekaboo, Diablo's Firestorm (returning fireballs), Johanna's Blessed Hammer, Leoric's Buried Alive, Nova's Railgun, Sgt. Hammer's Napalm Strike (impact damage) and Tychus' Big Red Button (the nuke portion)
- Leoric’s Reanimation Talent will no longer allow him to benefit from enemy Regen Globes during Undying.

- Leoric’s Drain Hope will no longer deal more damage than intended to player-controlled Dragon Knights or Garden Terrors after learning the Crushing Hope Talent.
New Hero

Read on for a brief overview of his Abilities, and then launch Heroes to guide this formidable new Warrior in combat.
Trait
- Undying
- Become a ghost when you die, regenerating Health over time, and resurrecting upon reaching full Health. Your Abilities don’t deal damage while in ghost form, but can still heal.
Basic Abilities
- Skeletal Swing (Q)
- Swing your mace in front of you, dealing damage and slowing enemies by 40% for 2.5 seconds. Deals double damage to all non-Heroic sources.
- Drain Hope (W)
- Grab an enemy Hero’s soul for up to 4 seconds, dealing up to 25% of their maximum Health as damage and healing you for up to 25% of your maximum Health, so long as you remain within range of the target. You are slowed by 20% while Drain Hope is active.
- Wraith Walk (E)
- Separate from your body, becoming Unstoppable and gaining Movement Speed, accelerating up to 50% over 2.5 seconds. Your body jumps to your wraith when Wraith Walk ends or is canceled.
Heroic Abilities

- Create an unpathable tomb in front of you for 4 seconds
- March of the Black King (R)
- Become Unstoppable and swing your mace three times, dealing damage and healing you for 7% of your maximum Health for each enemy Hero hit.
